A bagel! No way man. That was one of 2 dozen O shaped sugar cookies I made specially for that night. Do you know how hard it is to make an O? There are no O cookie cutters...so you have to make a circle and then you have to find something small enough (top of a spice jar) to cut the middle out. For a non-baker, this was very time intensive. Sigh.
I'm so jealous of all the people who took pictures of their televisions. I just went outside and made the dogs bark like crazy for about half an hour to wake up by redneck neighbors (I live in a very red state where it was midnight when the election was called).
April 24, 2008: Gladney orientation phone call April 29: receive paperwork/To Do lists for both Gladney (placing agency) and Partners for Adoption (California home study agency). May 9: sent off fingerprints to FBI and the I-600a June 2: finished with ALL paperwork (except home study) for Gladney, Partners and Dossier June 2: 1st home study visit w/ Partners for Adoption social worker June 3: sent all dossier paperwork to KBS (except I-171 and HS) June 13: 2nd home study visit w/ social worker June 27: receive and edit HS 1st draft June 30: Partners send our HS to Gladney July 9: Gladney done w/ HS, they send it to KBS Aug 22: send I -171 to KBS so she can finish dossier for good Aug 29: officially on Gladney's WAIT LIST Oct 28: Start Blog :-) May 29, 2009: Beginning of 10th month on the waitlist June 8, 2009: REFERRAL! Two month old TWINS--a boy and a girl! Holy Hannah! July 24, 2009: COURT DATE! Except Mowa wasn't able to open for business and so all court dates were canceled July 31, 2009: COURT DATE! 2nd time is the charm! Mary calls us at 8:30am on Friday July 31st to tell us it's official....we are parents to TWINS! Aug 14, 2009: Fly to Addis Aug 16, 2009: meet the Twins Aug 25, 2009: Home again, Home again, now a family of 4!
